Borderlands Movie Adds Kevin Hart as Roland, Not Claptrap

The Borderlands movie has been swirling around for a while now. Last year, we learned that Cate Blanchett was joining the cast as Lilith, and today brought even more surprising news. It's not so much that Kevin Hart is going to exist in this Borderlands movie. Instead, I but can't believe he's not playing Claptrap. The actor is making a fleck of a shift from his usual gig and taking on the more serious role of Roland. Give the announcement a look below.

Before you accuse me of making jokes about Kevin Hart's height, let me assure you that I'thousand absolutely doing that. All the same, information technology's simply also odd to have someone who has built an entire career around beingness a joke-every-second graphic symbol, and at present he'southward playing the stoic Roland. It's only a weird motility, is all I'm saying. Like, if he was moving to a serious part in some kind of biopic, I'd get it. You lot gotta branch out in Hollywood if you want that Oscar. But y'all aren't winning a golden statue as Roland from Borderlands.

Hopefully, the program here is to bring in someone like Morgan Freeman or Adam Driver in as Claptrap. That would only perfectly complete this incredibly weird casting pick. I do want to exist clear though, I think Hart can absolutely nail the grapheme. I'thousand but baffled past the conclusion because information technology's so far from the characters I expect him to take on.
