Will Toe Kick Registers Rot Cabinets
Hullo all...we're in the middle of a new build-cabinets are being installed today-question on toe kick a/c register.
The hvac company put 2 standard rectangle openings nether cabinets-one under kitchen sink cabinet, and i under master bath sink chiffonier. Gypcrete was poured, and the floor is flush with the metallic piping.
We called them this morning time, realizing they havent installed the hvac ducting from the opening in the floor that will go to the register in the toe boot....they said they werent going to-they were going to leave information technology open.
(sorry-only pic i could notice with short notice...in the bottom mid of this pic-see (role of) rectangle duct in flooring--they're going to exit this and let the air accident into the lesser of the cabinet, then out the toe kick duct. This doesnt seem right? It should exist ducted from the pigsty in the floor to the toe kick register, right?)
This cant be right?
To add to my concern, nosotros are installing cabinets direct on unsealed gypcrete (with shims)-which I've heard tin be dusty over time.
I besides dont sympathize how they could plan to do it this mode----when, previously I'd permit them know I wanted to become some different annals covers than the standard ones they provide-and they made a chip of a fuss over needing to have me let them know exactly which ones nosotros were getting-so they could check with the manufacturer on the specs to run into if it would work with their calculations on pressure level, etc for the system. How can they practise any type of pressure/blower exam when it blows out under a chiffonier?
Help. Am I off track in wanting the hold in the floor ducted to be connected to the toe kick vent-and so we dont lose force per unit area, we dont accident dust from under the chiffonier out into our room, and we dont waste matter energy cooling off nether the chiffonier area-which is not sealed?
Nosotros're going to telephone call back after I do some reasearch-simply would appreciate any input you could provide...equally I'd like to be informed when I have the conversation with the PM.
At this point-cabinets will be installed today--so I gauge we ask the chiffonier guys to remove the floor from those two cabinets and keep the toekicks off if nosotros stop upward 'special ordering' the parts to have this ducting installed.
There are so many details in doing this build---its such a gift merely we're and so tired. We thought nosotros were all ready for the cabinets to exist put in :(
Thanks for your input.
